Meet Anna, LCSW
Ready to embody your power?
I help ambitious, purpose-driven creatives break free from self-defeating patterns, reconnect to their power, and show up with clarity, confidence, and calm—without losing the creative edge that fuels their work.
How I Work
How I Work
Relational
I bring a warm, compassionate presence to our sessions so you can feel like you’re talking to a real person who cares, not a scientist trying to analyze you. Your healing happens when I actively attune to you and we build a strong therapeutic alliance. Relational work also means naming and exploring the dynamic that happens between client and therapist in the here and now! We all bring the same insecurities, beliefs, and relational patterns from our lives into the therapy room, which provides rich, experiential knowledge for life outside of it.
Somatic
I believe that your body holds innate wisdom and insight about who you are, what you need, and what you truly want. My work helps you learn how experience your emotions in connection with someone else (me!) so you can decode that insight. Somatic work is especially important for healing past traumas, which often are the root of the anxiety, burnout, perfectionism, and low self worth you may be feeling now. I will guide you in building familiarity with how your emotions feel in your body so you can start to learn your own body’s language.
Trauma-informed
Through both training and my work with those who have experienced severe, big T trauma (sexual assault, childhood abuse and neglect, for example), I have learned that the impact of trauma can shape almost all parts of your life - beliefs about the world and yourself, to how you feel in your body, to even how you experience time. I understand how to work with and improve post-traumatic symptoms, such as depersonalization, panic, or hypervigilance. I also understand how to approach your care in a way that honors your experiences with compassion, does not push you anywhere your system isn’t ready to go, and cultivates your sense of agency and efficacy.
Anti-racist
Let’s face it - American society was founded on anti-Black racist beliefs that harm all people of color / the global majority. I believe that anti-Black racist beliefs perpetrate harm from micro- to macro-levels: from person to person, within our communities, within our workplaces and educational institutions, how they are baked into and enacted through legal policy, and even the beliefs we’ve internalized about ourselves. I am committed to the life-long learning of anti-racist practice and unlearning of white supremacist implicit biases and beliefs. In the therapy room, this means I’m critically investigating how power, identity, and implicit biases may be showing up or impacting our work.
Gender- affirming
I see gender identity and expression as a spectrum that is highly individual to each person, and recognize that trans and non-binary people have always faced very real threats to their safety, rights, and personhood that are alive and well today. As a cis-gender provider, I believe that continually educating myself re: the trans experience is an ethical responsibility, I also believe that naming power dynamics in the therapy room is an important step to establishing psychological safety and trust.
Sex positive
Sexuality feels like a taboo subject to many, even in the therapy room. I view each person’s experience of their sexuality as uniquely their own, and an integral part of being human. I approach talking about sex in an open, non-judgmental, and inclusive way, and believe that exploring sexuality can be a window into unspoken wounds, deep relational desires, and that fantasy offers your mind-body’s creative solutions to healing those wounds and fulfilling your needs.
More about me, Anna:
-
I have experience working in a wide variety of settings, from outpatient care to the psychiatric emergency room.
I began my social work career as a psychotherapist at Resilience Lab, a large, multi-state virtual practice. Wanting to deepen my understanding of severe mental illness, I transitioned into working at the Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program at New York Presbytarian/Weill Cornell, working with an interdisclipinary team to assess and provide care for those in acute crisis or struggling with severe mental illness.
I found my way back to providing ongoing therapy through working at Mount Sinai’s The Adolescent Health Center, serving young folx ages 10-26. I provided ongoing therapy, largely for marginalized populations (low income, Black and brown, queer-identifying) and also provided comprehensive case management to assist patients in connecting to a range of services, including psychiatry, public benefits, food insecurity resources, and more.
As a dancer, I have performed with several companies across Boston, Austin, and New York City, at venues such as Triskelion Arts, Joe’s Pub, National Sawdust, and Ailey Citigroup Theatre. I have choreographed and presented work at The Banff Centre for the Arts, Boston Center for the Arts, The Boston Conservatory at Berklee, the MIT Science Museum, White Wave Dance Festival and Dumbo Dance Festival. I have especially enjoyed my collaborations with multi-media artists, such as creating dance films in collaboration with Tamara Al Mashouk, movement directing and starring in Eighteen by Hubbard and Birchler, or collaborating dynamic set pieces with sister and licensed architect, Paulina Reyes.

These days, you can find me dancing in my living room or practicing footwork on the subway commuting home.
I adore my cat Nandor, whose namesake is from What We do in the Shadows, because like the vampire, he is also dominant and clumsy, yet very lovable.
I love spending time by water (whether a pool or a beach) and am a frequent exerciser and meditator.
